Cert IV in TESOL - Teaching English to speakers of other language
NEAS accredited?
NEAS applies to educational bodies but it also recognizes ACC as a Registered Training Organisation. Our Cert IV in TESOL equates to one level of the required NEAS teaching standards (to be a nationally accredited ESL teacher).
China Immersion course:
Included in the course fees ¨C provides a cultural insight and basic lesson in Mandarin. Held by lecturer from UQ nearer to placement period which is normally Feb/September (in line with school term).
How long are the courses?
The classroom component of TESOL is conducted over two weeks, 2 Saturdays and 6 evening classes. The certificate IV in TESOL is approx. 220 hours in total.
Where are the courses held?
Level 1, World Knowledge Centre, Education City, Sinnathamby Bvd, Springfield Central, QLD.
Difference?
The Classfoom component including assessment is the minimum required to teach overseas. TESOL is nationally accredited ¨C with sufficient teaching experience, it can be used as a foundation to teach in Australia.
How much?
The price of the Certificate IV in TESOL is $2395 (plus %50 application fee).

What if can¡¯t attend all course dates?
Student may attend the next classes or study the module from home (teacher to approve depending on module and student).
What if student can¡¯t attend the course because of other commitments/location difficulties?
Distance courses are offered at a 10% discount. Involves studying online and via textbook.
