Overview

The short semester program will be for 3-12 weeks in Australia. Students participating in the program will get academic credits from their original enrolled university. At the same time, they could gain academic credits for their future postgraduate programs with a number of Australian universities. The classes will be delivered by qualified lecturers and using university’s textbook and framework.

Short-Semester Study and Activities

1. One of the optional short semester subjects is Project Management: Totally 52 contact hours, including classroom study, tutoring, visiting relevant organisations, workshops and lectures. Students will attend a test and get academic credits recognition from Chinese university and also Australian university’ Certificate for future academic credit recognition purposes.
2. English and culture exchange programs. Also there will be some Chinese-Australian students communication and culture exchange activities. Totally about 32-40 hours.
3. Visit a number of Australian universities. Experience the differences between Australia teaching and their original teaching style through immersing into the classroom lesson in person. Totally about 16 hours.
4. Visit Parliament House, Library, Museum and other local tourist spots. Totally around 10 hours.

Who are suitable students?

One of the major purposes of the short semester is to broaden Chinese university students’ knowledge base and therefore the curriculum is designed to suit all the students in the university. It is normally that students in closer discipline will get credits for core subjects and the other get credits for their elective subjects.

Mon 22nd Jan	Short-Semester Program Orientation;
Tues 23rd Jan	Project Management and assisting subjects study
Wed 24th Jan	Project Management and assisting subjects study
Thur 24th Jan to Sun 28th Jan	Take part in the AUS training about teaching and China Immersion. Take part in Chinese-Australian culture exchange activities, including: Sports matches; Presentation; 28th Jan AUS Farewell Party and joint performance.
Mon 29th Jan to Tue 30th Jan	Alternative weekend rest for two days. One day free and the other day tour at Brisbane CBD
Wed 31st Jan to Fri 2nd Feb	Project Management and assisting subjects study, including enterprise workshop and visit, visiting universities and parliament house, library and museum.
Sat 3rd Feb to Sun 4th Feb	The students not take part in the optional tour, rest for two days. The students take part in the optional tour, one day rest and another day Gold Coast movie world tour
Mon 5th Feb to Fri 9th Feb	Project Management and assisting subjects study, including enterprise workshop and visit, visiting universities and playing golf and other excursions.
Sat 10th Feb	The students not taking part in the optional tour, completion and depart for China,. The students taking part in the optional tour: depart for Sydney.
Sun 11th Feb	Sydney tour, including visit UTS
Mon 12th Feb	Depart for home country
